Hydro Scenario
Installed capacity of hydro projects is about 40,000 MW, while the potential for development is about 150,000 MW. The major hydro project developers are Jai Prakash Hydro, Bhilwara Group, GMR, GVK, Jindal Group, Tata Power, Reliance etc.
Private Sector Opportunities for Investments:
HDM has investment opportunities both in small hydro and large hydro projects. Currently we have small hydro of around 300 MW capacity under various stages like Greenfield, under construction and operating projects covering mostly North and North East India.
In large hydro we have around 500 MW projects available for 100% acquisition both operating and Greenfield.
Besides, we also closely work with private developers in Nepal. Projects of around 700 MW capacity are available for investments only at partnership level.
